More than just a name...
When Karen had decided to open her own salon, there were a few names floating about.
None of them felt right, until Olivers.

Mr Frank Oliver
Rewind to the late 1930’s, at the start of WW2, Frank joined the RAF and worked as ground crew servicing the aeroplanes. He was able to offer his barbering services to his friends and colleagues.
By the end of WW2 when Frank left the RAF.
Frank found employment in various industries whilst he raised enough money to start his own gentleman’s hairdressing business
‘Frank Oliver Barbers’.

His salon opened in Edmonton, North London in 1958 and was very successful.
A few years later, once Karen's mum had completed her hairdressing apprenticeship, Frank suggested she join him and fitted out the rear of the salon to accommodate ladies' hair styling.
A Family Trade
Throughout his time in the salon, he'd employed three daughters and a son-in-law who became his first apprentice.
He would be proud to know that the creative line has been followed through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

So, it is little wonder, when Karen was deciding on a name for the salon, she went back to the beginning of the story and proudly named her salon Olivers.
